Toni shares a drink with her husband and they discuss the trauma and horrors of Brushy Mtn State Pen and its history of violence. Infamous inmates spent years in the Gates of Hell and many met their deaths-up to 10,000 perished within its walls. The mines on the property also claimed the lives of inmates working off their sentences and through research we found some of their death certificates along with the death certificates of those who remain buried on the property, but their grave markers have long been lost to time.
